Andrzej Wojtyna, Associate Professor

A graduate of the Krakow School of Economics (1973). Full professor of economics and head of the Department of Macroeconomics at the University of Economics in Krakow from 1992 to 2016. He held fellowships at the University of Amsterdam, Stanford University, and the University of Cambridge.
Member of the Monetary Policy Council during its second term (2004–2010), the Council for Social and Economic Strategy at the Council of Ministers (1994–2003), the Macroeconomic Council to the Minister of Finance (1998–2000), and the Social Team of Economic Advisors to the President of the Republic of Poland (2002–2004).
His academic and research interests include issues related to the theoretical aspects of macroeconomic policy, the role of the state in the economy, and the history of modern economic thought.
His most important publications include: The Modern Capitalist State and the Economy: Theory and Practice (1990), Essays on Central Bank Independence (1998), The Evolution of Keynesianism and Mainstream Economics (2000), and Essays on Monetary Policy (2004).
